SWAN is to:
a) Recognise, empower, and celebrate single women in all their diversity.
b) Promote the rights, dignity, and self–reliance of single women.
c) Address limiting perceptions and hostile behaviour towards single women.
2030 Goals
- Enable 500,000 single women to access identity documentation, entitlements, and social protection.
- Train and support 50,000 single women as micro–entrepreneurs.
- Strengthen 5,000 solidarity collectives of single women across Tamil Nadu.
- Ensure 50% reduction in reported cases of exclusion, harassment, or violence against single women in target districts (but increase in the number of recorded cases).
- Establish policy frameworks recognising single women as an official category in Tamil Nadu.
